HISTORY

ORO VIVO is the first chain of jewellery and watch stores to fully integrate the design, manufacturing and distribution of its collections. The company concentrated its activities for the first 18 years in the mid-range sector, gradually expanding and concentrating its current network of 170 stores in four European countries: Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Germany.

On May 1st, 2005, ORO VIVO was acquired by the Christian Bernard Group ( www.christianbernardgroup.com), thereby creating the first integrated chain of jewellery and watch stores in Europe and moving the company into the luxury sector.

Driven by founder and President Bernard Nguyen’s creative spirit and his constant pursuit of innovation, the Group Christian Bernard continued to evolve within a tradition of beauty and perfection.

By progressively integrating different crafts and expertise over the years, the Christian Bernard Group (founded in 1973) has established a unique business. Unique for having mastered design processes and also for controlling manufacturing; for its experience in both generic and licensed products; and for its strong distribution network and acquisition of a chain of retail outlets. Today, the Group is known as a key player in the international market.

With continued growth for over 30 years and a turnover of €189 million in 2006, the history of Christian Bernard is a true success story.

Since May 2005, ORO VIVO has considerably expanded its range to include exclusive, innovative collections as well as products featuring the most elegant, symbolic designs. It tantalizes customers with a modern shopping experience set in a warm and welcoming decor. The management is handled by Damien Verrier. With over 700 employees, ORO VIVO's turnover is nearly €70 million in 2007.

Thanks to the Group’s synergies, ORO VIVO is entering a new phase of its development which will lead to the opening of some 130 boutiques by 2010.
